Description

Delightful cinnamon roll waffles topped with a creamy glaze, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (for cinnamon mixture)
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s guidance.
  2. Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; avoid overmixing.
  4. Blend the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Transfer this mixture to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner snipped.
  5. Lightly grease the waffle iron. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter into the center, then pipe a spiral of the cinnamon mixture onto the batter.
  6. Close the waffle iron and cook until golden and crisp, approximately 3–4 minutes per waffle. Repeat until all batter and cinnamon swirl are used.
  7. Beat the cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until the glaze is pourable.
  8. Serve the warm waffles generously drizzled with the cream cheese topping.
