Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground venison to the skillet, break it apart, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer the venison mixture to a baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes over the top evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden.
