Ingredients

- 1 lb ground venison
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, celery, and garlic, sauté until softened.
- Add ground venison to the skillet, break it apart, and cook until browned.
- Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the venison mixture to a baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes over the top evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a creamier topping, consider adding butter or cream to the mashed potatoes. Experiment with additional vegetables or herbs based on personal preference.
