Description

A hearty and comforting crock pot pot roast that brings family together with tender meat and vibrant vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs chuck roast
  • 4 large carrots, chopped
  • 4 potatoes, chopped
  • 1 onion, cut into wedges
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons cornstarch (for gravy)

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper, placing it on top of the vegetables.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 480-600 minutes or until the meat is tender.
  5. For optional gravy, remove the roast and vegetables. Mix cornstarch with a little water, then stir into the broth and cook on the stovetop until thickened. Serve.

Notes

Consider searing the roast before cooking for enhanced flavor. Add herbs or spices for a personal touch.
