Description
Moist, fudgy brownies enhanced with the vibrant burst of blueberries and a luscious glaze on top, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ cups blueberries (fresh or frozen, thawed)
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare blueberry puree: Start by blending the blueberries until smooth.
- Cook the puree: In a saucepan, cook the blueberry puree over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let it cool slightly.
- Prep the baking dish: Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cooled blueberry puree until well combined.
- Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, sift together flour and sea salt. Gradually incorporate it into the wet mixture until no dry spots remain.
- Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Make & apply glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until smooth. Pour the glaze over the cooled brownies.
- Cut and store: Once the glaze sets, cut the brownies into squares and store in an airtight container at room temperature.
Notes
For a richer blueberry flavor, consider adding a few additional berries into the mixed batter before baking.
