Ingredients

- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- Optional: a pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, water, and brown sugar.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt (if using).
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and let it cool.
- Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to a month. Use in lattes, iced coffees, or any festive fall beverages.
Notes
Use pumpkin puree instead of pumpkin pie filling for the best flavor. Adjust spices to your liking.
