Description

A delicious syrup that enhances fall beverages with the warm flavors of pumpkin, spices, and brown sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Optional: a pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, water, and brown sugar.
  2. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the mixture is smooth and the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Add the vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt (if using).
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  6. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean jar.
  7. Store in the refrigerator for up to a month. Use in lattes, iced coffees, or any festive fall beverages.

Notes

Use pumpkin puree instead of pumpkin pie filling for the best flavor. Adjust spices to your liking.
