  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (75 grams, softened)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and line your 6-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the vegetable oil and granulated sugar. Mix well until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Beat in the egg until the mixture turns creamy.
  6. Gradually add the milk and boiling water, mixing until combined.
  7. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and combine until smooth.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before removing it from the pan.
