Description

Miso black cod features a delicate balance of sweetness and umami, showcasing the rich flavors of miso marinade in perfectly baked fish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black cod fillets
  • 1/4 cup miso paste
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 1/4 cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Salt, to taste
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk together miso paste, sake, mirin, and sugar until smooth.
  2. Place black cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the cod from the marinade and wipe off excess.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and season lightly with salt.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
  7. Serve garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

Using high-quality black cod fillets will elevate the dish. For a presentation boost, consider broiling the fish for the last minute.
