- 6 slices of bread (preferably Texas toast or challah)
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup cooked turkey (diced or shredded)
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar (for serving)
- Jam (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Tear the bread into pieces and layer half of it in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl. Pour half of this mixture over the bread.
- Layer the ham, turkey, and cheese over the bread.
- Top with the remaining bread pieces, and pour the rest of the egg mixture on top, ensuring everything is soaked well.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
- Let cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve warm with jam.

You can prepare the casserole the night before and bake it in the morning for a hassle-free breakfast.
