Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 small box of orange jello
- 1 cup of whipped cream
- 1/2 cup of vanilla frosting
- Zest of 1 orange
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, orange juice, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix according to the package instructions until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, let the cake cool slightly, then poke holes all over the top using a fork.
- In a small bowl, dissolve the orange jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Pour the jello mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak into the holes.
- Let the cake cool completely in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- In a separate bowl, mix the whipped cream and vanilla frosting until smooth. Fold in the orange zest.
- Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
- Chill until ready to serve, and enjoy your refreshing Orange Creamsicle Cake!
Notes
For a twist, consider adding shredded coconut or crushed pineapple to the frosting.
