Ingredients

- 8 oz. milk or semi-sweet melting chocolate
- 1/2 cup whole milk (divided)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 4 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 8 oz. whipped topping/cool whip
- 24 crushed Oreos
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate with 4 tablespoons of milk over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Allow the mixture to cool for 5-10 minutes, then stir in the remaining milk.
- Chill the chocolate mixture until it feels cool to the touch and has thickened.
- While the chocolate is chilling, mix the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Pour the cooled chocolate mixture into the cream cheese mixture and blend well.
- Gently fold in the 8 ounces of cool whip until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
- In dessert cups or a large trifle bowl, layer the crushed Oreos, chocolate filling, and whipped topping.
- Add more cool whip or crushed Oreos if desired.
- Serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use high-quality chocolate or dark chocolate. Chilling the cups improves flavor melding.
