Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel candies, chopped
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, combining thoroughly.
  4. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture until fully combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped caramel candies.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them out appropriately.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges set and no longer look wet.
  9. Sprinkle immediately with sea salt for finishing.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies. Use parchment paper for easier cleanup.
