- 1 loaf of French bread
- 1/2 yellow onion, diced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (15 ounce) can sloppy joe sauce
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F.
- Cut the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place both halves on a lined baking sheet.
- In a large sauté pan, cook the diced yellow onion with a little butter or oil for 3-4 minutes, or until soft.
- Add the ground beef to the pan, crumbling it until no longer pink.
- Drain or use a paper towel to remove any excess grease, then stir in the sloppy joe sauce.
- Spread the beef and sauce mixture evenly over the bread halves.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the edges of the bread become toasty.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing, and enjoy!
