Description

A comforting spiced loaf filled with diced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg, perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, milk, and eggs. Mix well.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with enough milk to achieve a drizzle consistency.
  8. Once the bread is cooled, drizzle the glaze over the top and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a splash of vanilla extract to the wet ingredients.
