Description
Savory venison Philly cheesesteak sliders filled with ground venison, sautéed veggies, and melted provolone.

- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter – divided
- 1/2 cup chopped white onion
- 1 green pepper – diced
- 1/2 cup chopped white mushrooms
- 1/4 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 pound ground venison meat
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1–2 Tbsp. corn starch
- 24 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 12 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Melt 2 Tbsp. of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the chopped onion, mushrooms, green pepper, and minced garlic until soft.
- Add in the ground venison meat, salt, and pepper and cook thoroughly.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 3-5 minutes or until thickened.
- Add 1 Tbsp. of corn starch at about the 2-minute mark. If it appears too runny after 5 minutes, add another 1 Tbsp. of corn starch.
- Remove from heat.
- Grease two 9×13 baking dishes.
- Split the Hawaiian rolls and line the bottom with the roll halves.
- Spoon the venison mixture onto each roll filling them with about 1-2 Tbsp. of the mixture.
- Cut the provolone slices in half and top each filled roll with a half slice of cheese.
- Place the top half of each bun on.
- Melt 1 Tbsp. of butter and brush it across each roll.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted.
- Brush the top with more melted butter just before serving.
Notes
Allow venison to rest briefly after sautéing for more flavor. Use fresh ingredients for the best results.
